About us

We're a family-based kitchen operation in the San Francisco Bay Area, mainly specializing in traditional Chinese pastries and desserts.

At Forbidden Flavors, our exquisite Beijing-style baked goods and snacks are made with fine craftsmanship and natural ingredients, recalling the traditional flavors originally served to the royal family of the emperor in the Qing Dynasty 清朝 of China (1644-1911).

These recipes were passed down from my grandfather, who was a lifelong baker. My aim is to inherit my grandfather's skills, and carry on the traditional flavors.
